Polva, born Luc Desjardins in 1975 (Ottawa, Canada), is a multidisciplinary transvestite visual artist living and working in Mexico City.  Their principal themes revolve around gender identity, duality and artifice.

     After receiving a Visual Arts degree from the University of Ottawa in 1995, they focused on photo and video, participating actively in the local arts scene and showing their work nationally and in other countries (Finland).     

     In 2006, they moved to Mexico City and started producing  video art, photo, mixed media and theater.  The year 2019 marked the birth of Polva, a feminine alter ego through which they present their visual, musical and drag work today.

     Después de obtener una licenciatura en Artes Visuales de la Universidad de Ottawa, se enfoca en la foto y el videoarte, participando activamente en la escena local de arte y exponiendo su trabajo en Canadá y al extranjero (Finlandia).

     En 2006, se muda a la Ciudad de México y empieza a producir más videos de arte, fotos, obras de técnica mixta y de teatro. En 2019, nace Polva, un alter ego femenino a través de la cual presenta actualmente su trabajo drag, visual y musical.
